Luciano Darderi vs Yunchaokete Bu prediction
Luciano Darderi picked up his fourth title of the year and his first Challenger with victory in Genova at the beginning of last month. His Asian swing has not been quite as successful, with two defeats in three matches as he lost to eventual winner Alejandro Tabilo in Chengdu and was then defeated by Jenson Brooksby in Tokyo after beating home favourite Yoshihito Nishioka in round one. The Italian is up to 29 in the world ranking and has enjoyed a fantastic year, but his hard court record is still not for great reading, with 10 defeats from 15 matches on the surface.
He received a bye in the first-round of the Shanghai Masters and now faces Yunchaokete Bu. Bu ended a three match losing streak in round one as he beat Juan Manuel Cerundolo in a tight three set battle which nearly exceeded three hours. He was not broken on serve and ended up saving nine break points as he won 6-3 6-7 6-3.
Darderi will be the favourite but Bu has home support and should have some momentum after his first-round victory. The Chinese player has the game to defeat the Italian, who predominantly struggles to impose his game in these faster conditions.
