Luciano Darderi vs Brandon Nakashima prediction
Luciano Darderi began his indoors season at the Almaty Open but lost in the second-round to Shintaro Mochizuki after receiving a bye. It was a poor display from the Italian, who lost 6-3 6-3. He has achieved great success on clay this season with three ATP titles, which has seen his ranking go up to its highest of 26 in the world, but his record on hard court remains poor as he has lost 12 of his 18 matches on the surface this year.
Brandon Nakashima also competed in Almaty and lost at the same stage. He defeated Hamad Medjedovic but then lost out to Fabian Marozsan. The American has been consistent this year, with three semi-final appearances and a further five quarter-finals, but he has failed to make a final in 2025 and has not won an ATP title since 2022.
Darderi leads the head-to-head 1-0 after beating Nakashima in Hamburg on clay earlier this season, but these conditions are likely to favour the American and he will head into this as the favourite.
