Lucia Bronzetti vs Viktorija Golubic prediction
Lucia Bronzetti impressed in her last tournament as she reached the round-of-16 in Cincinnati. This included three set wins over world number 17 Daria Kasatkina and 2017 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko. Her run ended at the hands of Coco Gauff, but the Italian will be encouraged by her best outdoor hard court tournament of the year so far, with the US Open just a week away.
Her opponent in Cleveland will be Viktorija Golubic. The 32-year-old Swiss player last competed on the ITF circuit in Warsaw two weeks ago. She managed her best result of the season as she reached the final, but was thoroughly uncompetitive against Katerina Siniakova, as she lost 6-1 6-2.
Bronzetti will be buoyed by her recent displays and will hope to continue the momentum with a strong showing this week. Golubic should offer decent resistance and did make a final in her most recent event, but we’re backing the Italian to win this one.
