Lucia Bronzetti vs Coco Gauff prediction
Lucia Bronzetti picked up another impressive win in round three as she defeated Jelena Ostapenko in three sets. Ostapenko raced into an early lead, but Bronzetti stepped up her game in set two and three, despite squandering going a break up in both. The Italian reeled off the last three games to clinch a 1-6 6-3 6-4 victory. This follows on from her win in the second-round against Daria Kasatkina.
She will now go up against two-time Grand Slam singles champion Coco Gauff in the last-16. The American was given a walkover in her third-round match as Dayana Yastremska was unable to feature due to injury. Gauff had begun her campaign in Cincinnati with a 6-3 6-2 victory against Xinyu Wang.
Gauff leads the head-to-head 1-0 on the WTA Tour. She defeated Bronzetti 6-2 7-6 in the third-round of Indian Wells last year. The reigning French Open champion will be raring to go after a few days away and should be a firm favourite to advance.
