Lorenzo Sonego vs Sebastian Korda prediction
Lorenzo Sonego equalled his best result of the season in Stockholm two weeks ago as he made the quarter-finals. He was a set away from making the last four of an event for the first time in 2025, but his opponent Ugo Humbert fought back to win in three. He then competed in Basel but any momentum from his previous run disintegrated as he lost in round one to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. The Italian has just not been able to get any kind of run going this season and he will likely end the campaign with a negative win-loss record.
Sebastian Korda qualified for the event and will face Sonego in round one. His ranking has dropped this season as a result of injuries, including a heal problem which kept him out for a number of months. The American last competed in Basel but lost in round one to Humbert. His performances in Stockholm a week earlier were more promising, as he defeated Alexei Popyrin and Kamil Majchrzak to make the last eight, where he took the first set against Casper Ruud. Ruud would fight back and go on to win the tournament, but Korda will be encouraged by the level he showed.
Both players are solid from the baseline and there’s generally little to separate the pair indoors. A three set match looks likely.
Lorenzo Sonego vs Sebastian Korda tip: Both players to win a set
