Lorenzo Sonego vs Joel Schwaerzler prediction

Lorenzo Sonego picked up his best result of the season so far at Wimbledon as he advanced to the third-round following wins over Tomas Martin Etcheverry and Gabriel Diallo. The Italian took the first set against Taylor Fritz but would go on to lose in four. Sonego missed a chunk of the campaign earlier this year due to a wrist problem. 

He faces Joel Schwaerzler, who is set to make his first appearance on the ATP Tour this season. The 20-year-old has enjoyed success this year as he won a Challenger title in Kigali back in March, but his recent form is poor as he has lost his last four matches overall.

There were encouraging signs for Sonego at Wimbledon, but he transitions back to clay for this tournament, a surface on which he has just two wins from eight matches so far this season. He will be expected to win, but Schwaerzler should be able to make this competitive across three sets.
