Lorenzo Sonego overcame a huge scare against world number 412 Stefan Dostanic in the last round as he got through in three sets. Sonego comfortably took the first but Dostanic took the match into a decider after controlling the second set tiebreak. He then broke right at the start of the third and had three break point opportunities at 4-4, which would have seen him serve for the match. Sonego dug deep to win an enthralling encounter 6-4 6-7 7-6 after two hours and 53 minutes.
Jaume Munar will be his next opponent as the Spaniard thrashed Mattia Bellucci 6-3 6-1. Bellucci broke right at the start of the first set to go 2-0 in front, but Munar completely dominated proceedings after that, winning 12 of the last 14 service games to seal a fine victory. He won 84% of his points on first serve and created 11 break point opportunities, taking five of them.
Munar will be fresher for this one and he is more than capable of beating the defending champion over three sets.
