Lorenzo Sonego vs Alexander Zverev prediction
Lorenzo Sonego recorded a comfortable win in round one of Halle as he beat Jan-Lennard Struff 6-3 6-2. He did not lose serve and always looked in control as he picked up a first singles win on grass this season.
He goes up against world number three Alexander Zverev in the next round. Zverev swept aside Marcos Giron in his first-round match, not giving up a break point as he thrashed the American 6-2 6-1 in just an hour and 19 minutes. Zverev is chasing his seventh title on home soil and his first in Halle, having lost two finals in 2016 and 2017.
Zverev and Sonego have faced each other four times before, with the three-time Grand Slam finalist winning on each occasion. They have played once before on grass and it happened to be at this very stage of the competition last year, with Zverev winning 6-4 7-6. We predict an even more convincing result in the German’s favour this time around.
