Lorenzo Sonego vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina prediction

Lorenzo Sonego registered two straight set victories in Stockholm to make his third quarter-final of the season. He went up against a strong indoors player in Ugo Humbert but did take the first set. However, Humbert raised his game after that to win in three. Sonego has not enjoyed the best of seasons but should take some confidence from his performances last week as he looks to end campaign strongly.

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina came from a set down to also make the quarter-finals of an indoors event in Brussels but he then suffered a surprise defeat to Raphael Collignon in the last eight. The Spaniard has faded ever since he missed out on the chance of winning the Washington Open in July.

Sonego performed to a more impressive level last week and does have the slightly more powerful game style, which matches up well in these conditions where he can be more aggressive with his groundstrokes from the baseline. Davidovich Fokina can counter that with his solid defensive game but that is unlikely to be as much of a weapon on this surface.
