Lois Boisson vs Coco Gauff prediction
Lois Boisson continues to defy the odds with the French wildcard yet again needing to pull off a major shock to book a fairy-tale spot in the 2025 French Open final.
The world number 361 will have the whole of Court Philippe-Chatrier behind her against second seed Coco Gauff after capturing the imagination of her homeland with a run of exceptional results on debut at Roland-Garros.
The 22-year-old has already defeated the likes of Elise Mertens, third seed Jessica Pegula and most recently an in-form starlet in the shape of world number six Mirra Andreeva.
However, Gauff will surely provide her biggest test yet.
The American is such a fine mover and defender on clay and is targeting a second final in Paris after reaching the last four for the third time in four years.
Boisson’s variety, use of the drop shot and ability to neutralise a point and gun the forehand may not be as successful against the speed and agility of Gauff, who is happy sliding into the forecourt.
The American spewed countless unforced errors in her gritty win over Australian Open champion Madison Keys last time out but she always seems to find a way when the going gets tough.
The second seed will know she will be up against both the crowd and the underdog in this one but if the second serve holds up, her experience in this sort of situation may well carry her through.
Boisson continues to surprise so a flutter on her taking it the distance may be worth a look, but we think her run will finally end here.
Lois Boisson vs Coco Gauff tip: Over 2.5 sets
