Lois Boisson qualified for the Canadian Open after a straight sets win over Emiliana Arango. The 2025 Roland Garros semi-finalist only made her first appearance of the season in late April due to injury. She has just two victories from nine matches overall, with first-round defeats at Wimbledon, Roland Garros, Rome and Madrid. The only main draw victory occurred in Strasbourg after a straight sets win over Xinyu Wang.
She faces Antonia Ruzic in round one. The Croatian struggled at the Prague Open last time out, losing her first-round match to Dominika Salkova. It’s been an inconsistent season for Ruzic at best, but she has performed at the hard court WTA 1000 events in 2026, with a quarter-final appearance in Dubai backed up by a third-round run at Indian Wells.
