Liudmila Samsonova vs Wang Xinyu prediction

Wang Xinyu’s stunning run in Berlin continued after an in-form Paula Badosa retired in their last eight showdown.

The Chinese world number 49 was leading 6-1 when the Spaniard withdrew due to a hip injury to allow the underdog to reach her second semi-final of 2025 and her first on grass.

The qualifier, who has also taken down Daria Kastakina and Coco Gauff this week, will now battle Samsonova for a place in the final.

The Russian world number 20 once again showcased her quality on grass with a thumping 6-1 6-1 win over Queens finalist Amanda Anisimova. 

This will be their third meeting with Samsonova triumphing in their previous two in straight sets.

Wang is flying high here, so can’t be discounted, but Samsonova also looks to be in red-hot form and should have the mental edge.
