Liudmila Samsonova vs Marie Bouzkova prediction
Marie Bouzkova will hope to extend her winning streak to eight matches when she meets Liudmila Samsonova for a sixth time.
The Czech 21st seed came into Wimbledon on the back of winning the title in Nottingham and has looked confident and sharp in her first two outings.
Samsonova hasn’t had a great grass swing this year, but she has excelled on the surface in the past and did upset Diana Shnaider in her previous match.
The Russian also leads the head-to-head 3-2 and has come out on top in a deciding set in their last two meetings (in 2023 and 2024 respectively). Their three showdowns prior to that were many years ago, including their only other clash on grass that saw Bouzkova prevail in straight sets in Birmingham seven years ago.
That may not have much significance now, but Bouzkova is definitely the more form player and she’s more likely to be more aggressive in the key moments against the world number 41, who has been dropping down the rankings of late.
