Linda Noskova vs Qinwen Zheng prediction
Linda Noskova advanced to the third-round of the China Open after a very comfortable win against Xiyu Wang. She broke the Chinese player's serve on three occasions and didn’t concede a break point as she won 6-3 6-2 after an hour and 13 minutes. This was the 20-year-old’s first match since making the third-round of the US Open.
Qinwen Zheng is her next opponent. She marked her return to the tour from injury with a straight-forward victory against Emiliana Arango. In front of an expectant home crowd, Zheng broke right at the start of the match and went on to win 6-3 6-2.
This will be their first match on a hard court, with Zheng leading the head-to-head 1-0 on the WTA. She came from a set down to beat Noskova in the third-round of the 2024 Italian Open. Noskova will be a tough third-round opponent but we still expect the reigning Olympic singles champion to come through this one at her home event.
