Linda Noskova is without a win in three matches after early losses in Montreal and Cincinnati. She was on the end of straight set defeats to Jaqueline Cristian and 17-year-old Iva Jovic in the two respective tournaments. This run without a victory began in the final of her home tournament in Prague as she lost to compatriot Marie Bouzkova despite taking the first set. Lulu Sun is now ranked outside the top 100 of the world rankings after failing to defend a lot of points at Wimbledon, and a poor season overall, with the New Zealander failing to go further than the third-round of any tournament in 2025. This is a rematch of last year’s final, which saw Noskova win in straight sets. However, it’s Sun that leads the head-to-head 2-1, and she also defeated the Czech earlier this season in Miami. Nevertheless, Noskova has enjoyed a more productive campaign and should be a clear favourite to win against the world number 102.
