Linda Noskova has failed to win consecutive matches in any of her three tournaments on clay over the past six weeks, with early exits in Rouen, Madrid and Rome. The Czech has failed to replicate some of the form which took her to the semi-finals of the Abu Dhabi Open and the quarter-finals of the Dubai Tennis Championships in February.
Her opponent in round one is Liudmila Samsonova who is the eighth seed in this event but fell to a disappointing defeat to Hailey Baptiste in the second-round of the Italian Open last time out. She also lost in the first-round of the Stuttgart Open and could only muster one win before losing in Madrid too.
