Linda Noskova vs Elise Mertens prediction
Linda Noskova booked a spot in her second Grand Slam quarter final as her purple patch on grass continues at Wimbledon.
The Czech claimed the title in Berlin in the build-up to the third Major of the year and has been excellent in SW19, chalking up a 6-4 7-6 victory over Eastbourne champion Madison Keys last time out.
The ninth seed will now meet Belgium’s Elise Mertens for the first time after the 25th seed notched a 6-4 6-4 success over Marie Bouzkova.
This will be Mertens’ fourth major quarter final – a maiden one in Wimbledon – and her first since 2020.
The Belgian will no doubt look to the playbook that saw her upset world number two Elena Rybakina earlier in the tournament, but Noskova is in better form than the current Australian Open champion at present and this could be a real battle if they maintain the levels that have got them this far.
