Linda Noskova vs Ekaterina Alexandrova prediction

Linda Nosokova comfortably booked her place in the quarter-finals of the Monterrey Open with a 6-3 6-2 victory over Tatjana Maria. The defending champion broke Maria’s serve on five occasions, won 83% of her points on first serve and has now won seven matches in a row without the drop of a set at the event after her success last year.

Ekaterina Alexandrova will be her opponent in the last eight after the second seed defeated Ajla Tomljanovic in straight sets. Alexandrova did not have things all her own way, with the Australian going an early break up in both sets, but the world number 14 did not panic and fought back to win 6-4 6-3.

This is likely to be a close encounter, with Alexandrova enjoying a very strong season but Noskova having a near faultless recent record at the event. The Czech’s aggressive game plan has served her well so far and we’re predicting her to come through this.
