Lilli Tagger vs Tamara Korpatsch prediction

Lilli Tagger notched up her first tour-level title last month, as she defeated Daria Snigur inn the final of the Prague Open. The 18-year-old is now inside the top 50 of the world rankings. Tagger has also reached two ITF finals this season, winning a title in Fujairah. Tagger still had to qualify for the Cincinnati Open, but she lost in the first-round to Talia Gibson, despite winning the first set. She then competed in Monterrey, falling to a defeat against Yuliia Starodubtseva in the opening round.

Her opponent is Tamara Korpatsch. She also won a title in July, as she became the first German to win the event in Hamburg since Steffi Graff. However, Korpatsch has lost two of her next three matches since winning that tournament.  She lost in the first-round of the Canadian Open to Renata Zarazua, and round two in Cincinnati after a defeat to Iva Jovic.

Tagger is yet to drop a set to Korpatsch after two previous meetings, and the teenager is the favourite to win once more in the first-round of the US Open.
