Tamara Korpatsch used all of her experience to upset rising star Ella Seidel and earn the German bragging rights in Jiangxi.

The 30-year-old turned the tables to clinch a 3-6 6-0 6-1 triumph and tee up a last eight clash with Lilli Tagger.

The Swiss also caused a bit of a stir with a 6-4 6-2 victory over Elisabetta Cocciaretto.

The 17-year-old Austrian will again be the underdog and Korpatsch will once more face a far more inexperienced opponent with more energy in the legs.

There are 76 places between them on the WTA ladder but it feels like Tagger is a player already emerging as one to watch and while Korpatsch should have the edge, we see some value backing the upset or the teenager at least snaring a set in this one.
