Lilli Tagger vs Amanda Anisimova prediction

Lilli Tagger continued her rise as she beat Tamara Korpatsch in straight sets, securing the first Grand Slam main draw victory of her career. The 18-year-old dominated the first set before holding her nerve in the second set tiebreak as Korpatsch improved, winning 6-0 7-6 (4). Tagger has made huge progress in 2026, highlighted by her maiden WTA title in Prague, where she defeated two-time Grand Slam singles champion Barbora Krejcikova in the semi-finals.

She faces Amanda Anisimova next. Last year’s finalist made a strong start in New York as she beat fellow American Ashlyn Krueger. Anisimova required just an hour and 13 minutes to win 6-1 6-3, striking 25 winners across the entire match. She reached the Cincinnati Open quarter-finals last month, losing to Jessica Pegula.

Tagger’s fearless approach could trouble Anisimova at times, but the latter superior weight of shot is likely to cause damage against the teenager.
