After a year in which he reached a record seven singles Challenger finals, Liam Draxl is set to make his Grand Slam debut at the Australian Open.
The 24-year-old Canadian battled through qualifying to make the main draw, defeating the USA's Mackenzie McDonald in the deciding contest.
Draxl will take on experienced campaigner Damir Dzumhur, the current world number 66 who has twice reached the third round in Melbourne, although not since 2018.
The Bosnian failed to win a match in both Hong Kong and Adelaide in the weeks leading up to the first major of the year, and a confident Draxl could give him a serious challenge here.
