Laura Siegemund vs Petra Marcinko prediction
Laura Siegemund’s season is yet to get going, with four losses out of five in 2026 so far. Her only victory came in the first-round of the Australian Open against Liudmila Samsonova, but she then lost to Maddison Inglis despite serving for the match. Siegemund has followed that up with first-round exits in Doha and Dubai to Varvara Gracheva and Daria Kasatkina respectively.
She faces Petra Marcinko, who has lost six of her nine matches. She is yet to make it past round two of an event this season. The Croatian competed at the ATX Open last week, making a brilliant start against Kimberly Birrell in the first-round as she took the first set 6-0. However, Marcinko let her advantage slip away as Birrell came back to win in three sets.
Neither player has made an impact so far this season, and there is no particular clear favourite. Siegemund can frustrate her opponents with her unconventional style of play, though it’s unlikely to work as well on the slower courts of Indian Wells.
