Lanlana Tararudee enters the draw as a qualifier after wins over Julieta Pareja and Dalma Galfi. This continued a fine run of form, as she made back-to-back semi-finals on the ITF circuit in Mumbai and Bengaluru earlier this month. She has eight wins from her last 10 matches.
Sonay Kartal is her first-round opponent. The Brit’s best result of the season was a quarter-final appearance in Abu Dhabi, which saw her win four matches in a row after having to qualify for the event.
