Tatjana Maria will hope that the experience she has compared to that of Katie Volynets serves her well here. But Volynets is starting to rack up the Grand Slam showings now and whilst her highest finish in one of the four slams came at the Australian Open, she did reach the second round at Wimbledon last year, defeating Maria Lourdes Carle in straight sets.
German veteran Maria was a semi-finalist at Wimbledon back in 2022, where she finally lost out in three sets to Ons Jabeur.
