Katie Boulter vs Yue Yuan prediction

Katie Boulter is suffering from a huge drop in form as she prepares for the US Open in a week’s time. Her last victory came in the first-round of Wimbledon against Paula Badosa. She then fell to a surprising loss to lucky loser Solana Sierra in round two, before exiting in the first-round of Washington, Montreal and Cincinnati.

Yue Yuan does have a bit of momentum after a run to the third-round of the Cincinnati Open last time out. The Chinese player won four matches in a row, including both qualifying stages and a victory over Diana Shanider, before being on the end of a defeat to Sorana Cirstea despite taking the first set.

The Briton may take comfort from the head-to-head, as she leads 2-0 with both results being on hard courts. She won in the first-round of the Australian Open in 2024 and then at the end of the year in the semi-finals of the Hong Kong Open.

Nevertheless, Boulter is on a downwards spiral in terms of results and is very low on confidence. Yuan will be ready to capitalise on any errors and should fancy her chances.
