Katie Boulter’s difficult run of form continued as she lost in the first-round of the Washington Open to Ashlyn Krueger, despite going up a set. That was her fourth defeat in succession. Boulter enjoyed real highs during the first half of the campaign as she won the Ostrava Open and defeated world number two Elena Rybakina at Queen’s Club. Her first-round opponent is Kayla Cross. She clinched a wildcard at her home event after her run at the Granby National Bank Championships, which saw her go on and win the title. The 21-year-old is yet to make an appearance in the main draw of a Grand Slam, but she will hope to produce a strong display in front of her home crowd.
