Katie Boulter vs Eva Lys prediction
Katie Boulter won two of her qualifying matches to enter the main draw. She picked up a brilliant victory in Osaka last week as she defeated Linda Noskova in round one, but she was then soundly beaten by Sorana Cirstea in the next stage of the tournament. It’s been a mostly disappointing campaign for the former British number one, and she has now dropped to 59 in the world.
She faces Eva Lys in the first-round of the Pan Pacific Open. Lys also qualified for the tournament. This is her first full event since making the quarter-finals of a WTA 1000 event for the first time in Beijing. She beat the likes of Iva Jovic and Elena Rybakina before a last eight defeat to two-time Grand Slam singles champion Coco Gauff.
Lys will want to continue the momentum with a deep run here and she will be the favourite against Boulter.
