Katie Boulter is competing in her first tournament since winning the Ostrava Open. It was a fantastic tournament for the former British number one, who claimed her fourth WTA Tour title with a three set win over Tamara Korpatsch. Boulter struggled for much of 2025, but she will now look to set her sights on more success over the next few months, with a title already secured.
She faces Beatriz Haddad Maia. The Brazilian has made a dreadful start to the season, winning just one match out of six and she is yet to pick up a main draw victory. She only competed in Dubai as a lucky loser and was thrashed 6-0 6-1 in the first-round by Janice Tjen.
Boulter leads the head-to-head 3-1 after their four matches in 2024. She will be confident after her success in her previous event, and an out-of-form Haddad Maia gives her an even better chance of a sixth win in a row.
