Katie Boulter began her French Open campaign with a three-set defeat of wildcard entrant Akasha Urhobo in the first round the other day. Boulter has been in decent tough this season, having earned her fourth career title in Ostrava earlier this year.
Anastasia Potapova, the world number 30, was emphatic in her victory over Maya Joint the other day in the first round, winning in just 15 games. The Austrian was a qualifier at the Italian Open earlier this month but she still managed to make the last 16 after being a lucky loser and reaching the quarter-finals at the Madrid Open.
Potapova is in decent form at the moment and, despite Boulter playing better in 2026 once again, the Austrian remains the favourite to reach the third round in Paris.
