Katerina Siniakova vs Qinwen Zheng prediction
This is not the first time that Katerina Siniakova and Qinwen Zheng have met at Wimbledon. The pair clashed in the first round at SW19 back in 2023, with Siniakova coming on top in straight sets. In fact, Chinese star Zheng has been knocked out in the first round of this tournament for the past two years running, a surprise when considering the prodigious talent of a player who is already a former Grand Slam finalist at the age of just 22.
It's important to note that Zheng is arguably a much better player compared to two years ago and we should see a vastly difference performance from her this time around. But Katerina Siniakova knows how to win on the big stage, although it’s doubles which has seen her enjoy the most success across her career, winning ten Grand Slam titles with three of those coming at Wimbledon.
A recent semi-finalist at Queen’s Club, Zheng has been feeling good about her game on grass, although her fitness will need monitoring after withdrawing from the Berlin Open due to a neck injury. Expect a laser-focused Zheng and a sharp performance that sees her exorcise some demons and defeat Siniakova.
