The former world number enjoyed a comfortable victory as she wasn’t broken on serve and sealed a comfortable 6-4 6-4 win after one hour and 38 minutes. This is the first time Pliskova has won back-to-back matches since June 2024.

She faces defending champion Madison Keys next. The American encountered difficulties once again but still managed to defeat Ashlyn Krueger in straight sets. She raced ahead to win the first set, but her level dropped in the second as Krueger opened up a 5-2 lead. However, she regained her form to reel off five games in a row and seal a 6-1 7-5 win.

Pliskova leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a win in the final of the Brisbane International six years ago. The Czech will relish the opportunity of facing Keys, who has not been close to her best in the opening two rounds of the tournament.
