Karolina Muchova vs Naomi Osaka Prediction

Karolina Muchova has started 2025 in impressive fashion having played well in the United Cup and she romped to victory in the first round in Melbourne.

She dominated Nadia Podoroska 6-1 6-1 as her serve was particularly strong winning 89% on her first serve. She also won five of her six break points to ease to a comfortable win.

She now faces a tough test against Naomi Osaka who will be fired up to do well. The former world number one beat Carolina Garcia in three sets in the first round and she played relatively well but will know she has to raise her game if she is to push Muchova and have any hopes of progressing this week.

The pair have met three times before and it is Muchova who has won two of those. The last meeting came in the US Open last year and Muchova won 6-3 7-6. The two previous matches went to three sets and it would not be a surprise if this one did also.

We have to lean towards Muchova here given how well she is playing this last couple of weeks. It is a tough test for Osaka and it is hard to see her stopping the in-form Muchova.
