Karen Khachanov vs Jesper de Jong prediction

Karen Khachanov advanced to the third-round of the Australian Open after wins over Alex Michelsen and Nishesh Basavareddy. However, he would go no further after a four set loss to Luciano Darderi, despite coming into the match as the favourite. The Russian has struggled for form ever since reaching the final of the Canadian Open last summer. 

He faces Jesper de Jong in round one of the Rotterdam Open. The Dutchman began his season with two straight losses in Hong Kong and Adelaide. He was handed a difficult draw at the Australian Open as he went up against former world number one Daniil Medvedev, with De Jong falling to a third straight loss after a battling straight sets defeat in the first-round. He lost one of his two singles matches as the Netherlands fell to a surprising loss to India in Davis Cup qualifying.

Khachanov has not been close to his best in recent times, but De Jong has shown nothing in the past month to suggest he can pull off an upset here.
