Karen Khachanov vs Arthur Fery prediction

Karen Khachanov is back inside the world’s top 30 and received a bye in the first-round of the Shanghai Masters. The Russian returned to form at the US Open, advancing to the semi-finals at Flushing Meadows for the second time in his career. He was defeated by Alexander Zverev in straight sets. Khachanov then began his Asian swing with a run to the quarter-finals in Beijing. That included an impressive victory over Felix Auger-Aliassime.

He faces Arthur Fery in round two. The British number one overcame veteran Marin Cilic in the previous round. Fery saved a set point in the opening set before prevailing in a tiebreak and taking control of the second to complete a 7-6 (2) 6-2 victory. That was his second main draw Masters 1000 victory of the campaign. 

Fery has developed into an increasingly competitive player on tour, but Khachanov is enjoying a resurgence and should have too much quality for the Brit.
