Karen Khachanov vs Alexander Zverev prediction

Alexander Zverev made no mistake in serving out his win over Brandon Nakashima after the German was thwarted by weather in his third round clash with the American.

The world number three was leading 6-4 5-4 when rain suspended play, leading to an overnight delay.

However, the former Olympic champion made no mistake when he returned to serve out the win and tee up a same-day showdown with Karen Khachanov.

The Russian impressed as he dismantled Jenson Brooksby 6-3 6-3 to set up a ninth career meeting with Zverev. 

The German leads 5-3 in the head-to-head and eased to a 6-3 6-2 success at this tournament last year.

Zverev will also be targeting a slither of revenge after he was beaten 6-3 4-6 7-6 by Khachanov in the semi-finals in Toronto last week.

It will undoubtedly be another heavyweight baseline tussle with plenty of powerhouse serves and short points. 

It could go either way, but given the world number three will be highly motivated to make amends for last week, as well as his win here last year, we fancy him to have the edge this time around.
