Kamil Majchrzak vs Filip Misolic prediction
Kamil Majchrzak made his return from injury at the Shanghai Masters, getting through to the third-round after wins over Ethan Quinn and Brandon Nakashima in straight sets. However, he would go no further after a loss to Alex de Minaur. His form prior to that setback was encouraging, as he made the round-of-16 at Wimbledon, won a second Challenger final of the season in his home country and reached round three of the US Open.
Filip Misolic will be his first-round opponent as the Austrian qualified with two wins. Despite winning two titles on the Challenger Tour, Misolic’s form has dropped off alarmingly over the past few months and he had lost six matches in a row prior to the qualifying stages of the Stockholm Open. His clay court season was fabulous, with three finals overall and a run to the third-round of the French Open, but he has struggled to transition that form onto hard courts.
Majchrzak did show promise in Shanghai, and he will be expected to come through this in straight sets.
