Juncheng Shang vs Lorenzo Sonego prediction
Juncheng Shang reached the third round of the Montreal open earlier this month with victories against Daniel Vallejo and Andrey Rublev before losing to Sonego’s compatriot Luciano Darderi. Shang hadn’t won successive matches before that since the Hong Kong Open in early-January.
The second of those successive wins in Hong Kong came against Lorenzo Sonego. The Italian has since experienced a mixed 2026. He most recently succumbed to a hard-fought 2-0 loss to Tallon Griekspoor in Montreal this month.
Shang will take confidence from his head-to-head against Sonego in Hong Kong and the lack of form of the Italian should ensure a close contest here.
