Juncheng Shang vs Alexander Bublik prediction

Juncheng Shang wowed the home crowd as he downed Lorenzo Sonego to reach the last eight in Hong Kong.

The Chinese wildcard once again showed he has the capability to challenge near the upper echelons of the men’s game in the future with a 6-3 6-4 success over the Italian fifth seed. 

The world number 406 will now tackle second seed Alexander Bublik after the Kazakhstani eased to a 6-3 6-3 win over Botic van de Zandschulp. 

This will be their fourth meeting with Shang leading the head-to-head 2-1, winning the last two matches with all three taking place in 2024.

Bublik has hit another level since then and he will hope to continue his momentum from a stellar 2025 this season. 

Shang has the game to cause plenty of problems but an in-form Bublik may prove too much at this stage as the 20-year-old Chinese starlet looks to build consistency after missing six months last year.
