Juan Manuel Cerundolo vs Nicolas Mejia prediction

Juan Manuel Cerundolo last competed at the China Open, losing in the first-round to home favourite Bu Yunchaokete. It’s been a breakthrough season for the Argentine, who moved up to a career high ranking of 42 back in June. He also advanced to the round-of-16 at Roland Garros, beating world number one Jannik Sinner in one of the year’s biggest shocks. His best tour-level result was a semi-final appearance in Gstaad.

He will play Nicolas Mejia in the first-round of the Shanghai Masters. Mejia qualified for the tournament after wins over Chun Hsin Tseng and Michael Zheng. The 26-year-old has two Challenger titles to his name this season, while he also won his first-round match at Wimbledon.

Despite excelling on clay, Cerundolo has also been competitive on hard courts this season, with eight wins from 16 matches overall. He will be the favourite to grind his way to victory against Mejia.
