Jordan Thompson vs Nuno Borges Prediction

Jordan Thompson came through a tough opening match against Germn Dominic Koepfer in four sets and he will want to improve on that display as he now meets Nuno Borges.

He conceded 12 break points against Koepfer which was probably more than he would have liked and that will be an area he aims to improve on against Borges.

Borges came from a set down in his first-round match against Alexandre Muller to win the next three and win in four. 

The 27-year-old was in good form in the ASB Classic last week and his display in the first round in Melbourne suggests he will pose Thompson some issues here.

They have met once before on the ATP Tour back in 2021 and it was Nuno Borges who won 7-6 6-3. That came on clay in Estoril however and Thompson will back himself on home soil and on hard courts.

We have a marginal preference for Thompson but Borges will be competitive here and push him hard. This could well be one of those that goes all the way and we are going for sets here and over 3.5.
