Gabriel Diallo’s grass credentials will be tested to the max against Jordan Thompson.

The six foot eight Canadian has all the attributes to be a beast on the turf and he bagged his first win on the surface at the top-tier with a tight 7-5 7-6 success over Aleksandar Vukic.

The 23-year-old fired down 13 aces with no double faults and he will need that sort of firepower against the lively Aussie.

Thompson is an experienced grass-courter and won 92% of points on his first serve as he defeated Aleksandar Kovacevic.

This will be their first meeting on the main tour, but they have shared a win apiece at a lower tier, although this will be their maiden encounter on grass.
