Johannus Monday vs Tommy Paul prediction
Johannus Monday was awarded a wildcard for this year’s event and makes his major debut in the first-round here. He failed to make it out of qualifying for his two most recent events at Queen’s and Eastbourne. His highlight of the last month was reaching the round-of-16 at Ilkley on the Challenger Tour.
Tommy Paul competed in just one grass court event leading up to Wimbledon. It was a disappointing showing at Eastbourne as he lost to Britain’s Dan Evans in the first-round of the Eastbourne International. Paul has struggled with niggling injuries this season but did end the clay court season strongly, reaching the semi-finals of the Italian Open and then following that up with a last eight finish at Roland Garros.
Paul did make the quarter-finals here last season and though he wont be completely sharp on the surface with just one match under his belt, he should find no issue in making it through.
