Jodie Burrage vs Barbora Krejcikova prediction

Jodie Burrage produced a fine performance to beat Moyuka Uchijima in the first-round of Eastbourne. The Brit took all six of her break point opportunities as she wrapped up a 6-3 6-2 win in front of a home crowd. Burrage is yet to pick up consecutive wins on grass this season but now has the opportunity to do so against Barbora Krejcikova.

Krejcikova also faced a Brit in the previous round as she played Harriet Dart. Dart had match points as she served for the match in the third set, but Krejcikova regrouped to reel off three games in a row and win a dramatic match. The Czech could have wrapped up a far more comfortable victory in straight sets but she was broken when serving for the match in set two. Nevertheless, the two-time Grand Slam champion won 6-3 6-7 7-5. 

Burrage has threatened at times during this grass court campaign but Krejcikova is gradually finding her feet having been out for so long this year. It may take three sets but we expect the 2024 Wimbledon champion to book her place into the last eight.
