Jiri Lehecka booked his place in the quarter-finals of Queen’s Club with an impressive straight sets win over Gabriel Diallo. The Czech player broke Diallo's serve early and never looked back, winning 6-4 6-2 against last week’s Libema Open champion. This was the second match in succession that Lehecka did not face a break point and he has now made successive quarter-final appearances in the two grass court events he’s competed in this season.
Jacob Fearnley is into his first tour-level quarter-final after defeating the unpredictable Corentin Moutet. The Brit made a strong start but suffered a slump in the second set, only to recover and win 6-3 2-6 6-2.
Though Fearnley continues to make huge strides and will have home support behind him, it’s hard to look beyond Lehecka in this match. He’s serving superbly right now and not allowing any opportunities for his opponents. We think he will be just too strong for Fearnley and make a third semi-final of the season.
