Jiri Lehecka vs Gilles Arnaud Bailly prediction
Jiri Lehecka reached the round-of-16 of a Masters tournament for the third time this season, but he was unable to go any further as he lost to Arthur Rinderknech in straight sets. That would have been a disappointment for the Czech, given the host of top ranked players that had exited the tournament in Shanghai at an earlier stage. Nevertheless, he is ranked inside the top 20 and has enjoyed numerous highlights in 2025, including making the second Grand Slam quarter-final of his career in New York, reaching the final of Queen’s Club and winning the title in Brisbane right at the start of the year.
He is the third seed here and faces Gilles Arnaud Bailly. The 20-year-old home favourite earned his first win on the ATP Tour after getting past Daniel Altmaier in three sets. Altmaier saved match points in the second set tiebreak, but the Belgian showed great resolve in the decider as he surged ahead and sealed a 6-4 6-7 6-3 win after two hours and 38 minutes.
Despite his victory, the youngster gave up 11 break point opportunities in total, saving 10, with a player like Lehecka likely to have a better conversion rate. The Czech will be expected to win in straight sets.
Jiri Lehecka vs Gilles Arnaud Bailly tip: Jiri Lehecka to win 2-0
