Jiri Lehecka vs Alexander Zverev prediction

Jiri Lehecka advanced to the round-of-16 at Wimbledon for the second time in his career after a four set win over Jaume Munar. Lehecka looked on course for a third successive straight sets win as he went two sets and 4-2 up on the Spaniard. However, Munar reeled off four games in a row to extend the contest into a fourth set. Nevertheless, the Czech, who reached his first Masters 1000 final in Miami earlier this year, regrouped to seal a 6-4 6-4 4-6 6-4 win.

He will now face Alexander Zverev as he continued his serene progress at SW19 with a straight sets win over Marcos Giron. Zverev fired 17 aces and created 16 break point opportunities as he completed a 6-2 7-6 (4) 6-4 win after two hours and 34 minutes. He will now be aiming to reach the quarter-finals at Wimbledon for the first time.

The head-to-head is 1-1 between the pair, but they have not faced each other since February 2023. Zverev has breezed through his opening three matches, but Lehecka is likely to be a step up in terms of opposition. The world number two is still a firm favourite, but Lehecka is worth at least a set here.
