Jessika Ponchet vs Tereza Valentova prediction
Jessika Ponchet made it through to the quarter-finals in Prague as she defeated Barbora Palicova 6-1 7-5. Ponchet made a storming start to the match, winning the first five games and was well clear in the second as she raced to a 4-1 lead. Palicova staged a fightback, breaking back to draw level but Ponchet was not to be denied and broke again to win in straight sets.
She will face Tereza Valentova, as the teenager continued her rich vein of form with a shock win over second seed Rebecca Sramkova in the last round. Sramkova served for the first set, but Valentova broke back and dominated the tiebreak to take a crucial lead. Breaks were exchanged in the second before the young Czech dealt the killer blow to win 7-6 7-5.
Valentova is now on a seven match winning streak after her win in Porto last week and is ranked higher than Ponchet in the rankings. The youngster is set to break into the top 100 after this week and we fancy her chances of extending her run further with yet another victory.
