Jessica Pegula vs Sofa Kenin prediction

Jessica Pegula began her US Open campaign with a straight sets win over Elena-Gabriela Ruse. The American created 18 break point opportunities in total and won 92% of her first serve points as she completed a 6-3 6-2 win after one hour and 23 minutes. The 2024 finalist is seeking a first Grand Slam title.

She faces 2020 Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin, after the American beat Venus Williams in the first-round. Kenin looked to be cruising to victory as she took the first set and went 4-2 up in the second, but the 46-year-old then reeled off three games in a row and had three set points on Kenin serve in the 10th game. The 27-year-old did manage to push the set into a tiebreak, and despite Williams going 6-2 up, Kenin fought back to win 6-3 7-6 (7).

Kenin was vulnerable at times in that match, and Pegula will be expected to win comfortably.
