Leylah Fernandez will be her opponent after the Canadian made it through to the round-of-16 with an impressive straight sets win over Maya Joint. The 19-year-old Australian has been one of the rising stars on the WTA Tour this season, but she was distinctly second best against Fernandez, who produced a controlled performance and conceded just one break point.
The 2021 US Open finalist will be full of confidence after such an encouraging result and has the quality to push Pegula all the way, but we still expect the American to come through this.
